Poland and Sweden qualified for the European Final

Young shooters from Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden met in the small village Rottne in the south of Sweden on the weekend 23 to 24 May to compete in the Northern Regional Final of the European Youth League.

A total of 28 shooters (19 girls and 9 boys) and their coaches met in the shooting range Sörabyhallen on Friday afternoon for training and equipment control. The competition started on Saturday morning and in the evening the outstanding Swedish rifle team had already qualified for the European Final in Copenhagen in October by winning all their matches. In the pistol competition the Polish team also managed to win the necessary number of match points already on the first day.

The fight for the second places was very exiting but finally Poland and Sweden were ranked in second place for the rifle and the pistol competitions respectively.

The Norwegian girl Julie Andrea Bakken shot the highest score in the rifle competition, 395 points and the Polish pistol shooter Tomasz Palamarz shot the excellent scores 382, 382 and 381 in the three matches.
