THE NEW ISSF CONSTITUTION – LAST CALL FOR COMMENTS

On July 2nd the delegates of the 2016 ISSF General Assembly in Moscow will vote on the new version of the ISSF Constitution. Up until April 11th, all ISSF Member Federations have the opportunity to send their comments on the draft that was approved by the ISSF Executive Committee on March 1st and since published on the ISSF website.

It has taken more than a year to review the ISSF Constitution, beginning on April 1st 2015, when the ISSF President Olegario Vázquez Raña designated the ISSF Vice-President and the ESC President Vladimir Lisin to coordinate the process. Since that time, a lot of effort has gone into creating a modern and comprehensive document. At all times, it was an open and transparent process. Many Member Federations, officials and interested persons took part in the process and shared their ideas with the ISSF. Those proposals were evaluated for possible inclusion in the very first draft. Then the ISSF Statutes and Eligibility Committee played a very important role and prepared a well-structured, juridically balanced second draft. Following several meetings in the beginning of 2016, the third draft was finally completed and this is the version that is currently being analyzed now by our Member Federations.

After the end of the comment period, all the new recommendations will be thoroughly analyzed in order to create the final draft that will be sent out to all Member Federations at least two months before the General Assembly in Moscow. After that, only editorial or technical corrections may be accepted for discussion.

The European Shooting Confederation considers it very important that those Member Federations, that have no further comments to make on the draft, contact the ISSF to confirm they have no further comments to add.
