This time Poland was better

Today’s competitions continued with Air Pistol Men Junior event.

Representatives of seven nations took part in the event.

Andreas Köppl from Germany, Iván Rakitski from Poland, and Luca Joldea were left for the fight for medals.

Till the very last shot each athlete shot with a minimum difference from other rivals. Joldea was first to eliminate winning the Bronze with 219,8 points. So the duel between Germany and Poland began. And again: it was absolutely unpredictable who will win the match. Each athlete showed wonderful results. Anyway Rakitski was better and took the Gold with a difference of just 0,3 points ahead of Köppl!

It is noteworthy that Rakitski is the grandson of the 1988 Seoul Olympic champion in the 10m Air Rifle event Irina Shilova – this is what continuity of generations means!

It should also be noted that the Announcer, Maestro Philip Bernhard, simultaneously acted as the conductor of an orchestra of applauding audience.

In the Team event representatives of Ukraine (Maksym Himon, Ivan Martynov and Timur Pidhornyi) took Gold medals, Romania (Luca Joldea, Levente Matyas Bucsias and Constantin-Daniel Feraru) – Silvers, and Azerbaijan (Vladislav Kalmikov, Imran Garayev Haji Musayev) – Bronzes.

Congratulations!
